one of the best running trails in the country. where else can you look across a river at the capitol, the washington monument, the kennedy center, the jefferson memorial et al, while you run ot bike.

truly amazing.

BRING CASH! none of the vendors take credit cards and there are like three atms inthe entire stadium. you will be waiting forever if you don’t visit the atm beforehand.

yes this stadium is still stuck in the ‘70’s.

before i moved to atlanta, st elmo’s was my home away from home. i have wittled away more hourse sitting on the patio, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes (no more of that, thank god) while talking about every possible issue under the sun.

st elmo’s is the true neighborhood hangout.

because after reading the book “the sex lives of cannibals” i am now absolutely fascinated with seeing this place.

one of my favorite places to eat on an island full of them. the food is spectacular, down-to-earth, cuban fare. especially good is the three milk pound cake dessert, which i get every year. go when the duo is playing live cuban music. they’re great and even if you speak no spanish you will be singing ‘guantanamero’.

on a beach. seating for maybe 100. a quiet private cove. a three course chefs menu that is a suprise until the food comes out. and food that is always delicious, with the freshest seafood in the world.

if you ever find yourself in aruba, you have to go here.

we come here for family vacation every year. the best beaches in the world, the nicest people, great food. it never rains, there is always a trade wind. as close to paradise as you can get.

so i have to recommend it. unfortunately like many small towns throughout the south it has become a casualty of declining textile production, growth of agribusiness etc.

union’s best hope ist to become a bedroom community of greenville-spartanburg.

....and i have never been to stonehenge…sad. next time i am making it a point to go.
