austin is okay
I am aware that this site is generally very positive and i appreciate and like that. I live in austin and i only think it’s okay, though.
good things about austin:
superior food culture, between whole foods and central market (lots of imported and exotic foods available) and great mexican food & margaritas at places like polvos and taco stands on the east side
barton springs pool
generally good weather
hike and bike trail, plus lots of free outdoor stuff to do
pretty girls
alamo drafthouse
bad things about austin:
people are generally boring as everyone is white and comfortable (or mexican and invisible)
city thinks it is weird in this self-congratulatory way when it is actually a typical sleepy middle-class town
live music scene is highly overrated… particularly if you don’t like live music that much
college kids can be obnoxious
most post-college people are hipsters or yuppies- both groups are cliquish and snobby
