Vatican City

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I went with a tour group and didn’t have to wait very long. Plus, she was a wealth of information especially with all the art and architecture.

A fun thing to do: In the Vatican Museum gift shop, send yourself a postcard. Since it’s a sovereign city-state, they have their own stamps that you won’t be able to get anywhere else.

Sistine Chapel

Worth visiting!

breath taking.

I wanted SO BAD to take a picture, but they warn you not to because they can and will take away your camera. Even with the Sistine Chapel crowded, everyone was very quiet and courteous. Our guide(I love tour guides because you always get the back story and history) told us that the Chapel was meant to be seen through the door that the pope entered through, which is on the opposite side from which you enter, if I remember correctly. There are these huge doors and if you stand there and look up it’s absolutely amazing. I stood there for a long time and just stared.

Roma

(in Italy > Lazio)

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

Visited for three days with a tour group, and hit all the major tourist attractions including Vatican City. So much to see and do! it was early October when we went, but the weather was still warm. I love how they eat! Great food everywhere we went! Would love to return. I even threw a coin in the fountain to seal the deal :)

Visited France, but just in Paris. I would like to return and travel outside of the city, especially to the South. :)

London

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

Traveled here with a tour group. We only had three days, so we figured a guided trip would be best. Very chilly, but it was the end of September so it was not unexpected. It’s a city with a very rich and impressive history. It’s easy to get around and public transportation got us everywhere we wanted to go easily and quickly when we broke away from the group.

Paris

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I went with a tour group to Paris, but my friends and I had time to wander around on our own. Fantastic. Only thing was that the back streets are confusing and you can get lost easily. Lucky for us, everyone was very friendly and helpful, there was even an elderly couple that walked us back to our hotel at 1am and at that point, we had been lost for the better part of an hour! There were lots of things to see and do, of course: it’s Paris! Went to Moulin Rouge, the Louvre, Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Place de Tertre, and consumed more crepes than necessary.

I would love to go and explore outside of Paris on my own. One day, hopefully.

Cebu

The first time I went to this place

I traveled here with a lot of my family during a visit to the Philippines (May 2008). Since no one has ever been, we booked a tour guide who was very helpful and brought us to all the major tourist attractions. We also got a boat and went island hopping! They cooked us food then brought us out to the middle of the ocean to snorkel and feed fish.

San Francisco

Worth visiting!

december

Visited in the beginning of December. A little chilly, but I was expecting that. Did the whole tourist thing: segway tour, Alcatraz, biking across the Golden Gate Bridge to Saulsalito (yeesh, but I made it, burning legs and all!), Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown. Also consumed an outrageous amount of sour dough bread… everyday.
