Vatican City, Holy See

Untitled

I went with a tour group and didn’t have to wait very long. Plus, she was a wealth of information especially with all the art and architecture.

A fun thing to do: In the Vatican Museum gift shop, send yourself a postcard. Since it’s a sovereign city-state, they have their own stamps that you won’t be able to get anywhere else.

Sistine Chapel, Vatican City

breath taking.

I wanted SO BAD to take a picture, but they warn you not to because they can and will take away your camera. Even with the Sistine Chapel crowded, everyone was very quiet and courteous. Our guide(I love tour guides because you always get the back story and history) told us that the Chapel was meant to be seen through the door that the pope entered through, which is on the opposite side from which you enter, if I remember correctly. There are these huge doors and if you stand there and look up it’s absolutely amazing. I stood there for a long time and just stared.

Roma, Lazio

Untitled

Visited for three days with a tour group, and hit all the major tourist attractions including Vatican City. So much to see and do! it was early October when we went, but the weather was still warm. I love how they eat! Great food everywhere we went! Would love to return. I even threw a coin in the fountain to seal the deal :)
