Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee
Avoid Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge
If you’re going for the Smokies… go for the Smokies. Avoid Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge for that matter, which are clogged with tourist families, where every male is wearing a baseball cap and holding a young child’s hand. AH. The mountains are very beautiful, and the park itself is quite expansive. There is a lot to explore.
