Sydney to Cairns in 1 month. Best trip I ever took.

South Lake Tahoe is great. Lake, mountains, casinos, restaurants etc all within walking distance. Just take the bus from Reno airport and stay close to the CA/NV state line.

Go during a blues festival. You won’t regret it.

Better and much more live music. Better weather. Much better people. Food at the fair is fantastic. Bourbon street goes off just as big as Mardi Gras – beads and all. Everything but the parade floats – big deal.

If you can drive there, go. If you have to fly, don’t bother. Yosemite is better. Zion in Utah and Rocky Mtn National Park are better. Grand Canyon – better.

Drive the whole peninsula if you have the chance. The road (yes, singular) is in perfect condition and totally safe. The governments “Green Angels” drive the road to assist tourists if they break down or need help. Every 12 hours one will pass you if you stay in one spot. This ain’t mainland Mexico so forget the rumors.
