Culture, Culture, Culture!! This place is excellent for photography (historic sites, busy streets, interesting street performers, modern buildings, statues, market) the nightlife is fun and inexpensive too! I had a blast and do plan to return someday and travel to the outskirts of this beautiful, poetic land!

Ok, Roma, Italy is beautiful and the architecture is amazing!! Hold onto your wallet though, everyone I have spoken with including myself and my friend that went on this trip with me have either been severly overcharged for anything from food and taxi to souveiners and hotel or pickpocketed!!!
I would advise planning only an overnight (maybe 2 if you have extra cash to blow) and get the city tour to the sights (I think it’s about 18 euro).
If you thought the Italians were partying and having a great time, think again. My trip was from Dec 22 – Dec 26, 2006 and there were mainly tourists about and anywhere that said BAR was actually a snackshop!!! We only found 3 bars in the entire Roma area (there may be more but we didn’t see them advertised or find them) and the drinks were ourageous!! 8 euro for a beer!!!
It’s best just to go see the sights, maybe stay a night and get out of there! And I would advise STRONGLY toward flying into the DaVinci airport, DO NOT TAKE CIAMPINI!! There is no travel other than buses (than only run certain hours) and taxis that rip you off (40 euro for a 10 minute ride) at Ciampini Airport, besides it is small and ghetto like airport!!

a 2 drink minnimum but well worth it, I got hypnotized one night and did a series of silly things, another night I just chilled and ended up laughing a drink out of my nose TWICE!!

for much camping, caves, swimming, tubing, skiing, etc etc..

My Half Brother lived there for a while and I visited a week or so.

I love these places, my heart was formed there.
