Yum!

All around favorite lunch spot. Casual, delicious food in a Seattle landmark.

Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon National Park

If you can, do the hike down to the bottom of the canyon. It looks unbelievably immense, but it’s a relatively easy hike if weather conditions are good. Don’t go in the summer (far too hot); I recommend February (there’ll be snow on the rim, but there’s a huge temperature difference between the top and bottom so you’ll be freezing when you start but ok in a t-shirt by the time you get down to the bottom). There is a lodge at the bottom called Phantom Ranch. I believe you can camp there as well, but I recommend the Ranch. I think quarters were unisex bunkbeds. Food was awesome (maybe it was the hike down?). The hike up was surprisingly quick. Again, don’t do this in the summer. You’ll have to carry too much water to hike at a reasonable pace.

Private dinner by candlelight on the roof under a full moon. Amazing.
