i saw a gorgeous petite black woman with a cotton candy pink afro in 5 inch platform sandals and a mini skirt. there are all types, the diversity is great. there’s lots of artsy people and stores there that were really fun to look at.

i went there with my church youth group in 8th grade. heh, good times.

skiing was fun. hot springs = very relaxing. for sure it was worth visiting :)

just don’t talk about how much you hate bush!! lol!

so, the beachy, touristy parts are really nice and upper class and are a fun vacation. but for the love of god, stay away from tijuana. it’s a boarder town by california (i’m pretty sure)... wow, people were begging and clinging to my pants and stuff trying to get me to give them money. plus there were whores and lots of drunk guys walking around. it was gross. but i highly recomend cancun and the other touristy crap. :)

i LOVED it here!! the guides were awesome. the locals were awesome. i had a lot of fun learning about their culture when i was in the rain forest. the more touristy parts were a little dodgey though… make sure you go somewhere you trust or have people with you you can trust. the last resort we stayed at was the biggest and the most touristy and we had to be concerned about locking things and getting a safe for the room and about whether or not all the employees made copies of the keys anyways. it just wasn’t very nice at that place, didn’t make us feel safe. but when we were in the jungle it was EXQUISIT.

it rained the ENTIRE time. i bet it’s really nice during the dry season tho!

VERY nice locals, very nice everything… just don’t drink ANYTHING with their water OR the ICE CUBES!!!! (sickness, hospital, NOT FUN)

When I was there a group of Muslum students approached me and asked me to show them my hair (i was wearing a head covering to respect their culture b/c my hair is very long and wild). I showed them and they were in awe. It was really interesting to talk to them about religion (CAREFUL not to offend them!!) and about their school system compared with ours. It was a great culture-shock. Just make sure you’re weary of theives (or molesters if your female, wear baggy clothes and cover as much as possible!).

Egypt was great. If you appreciate history at all it’s a really interesting vacation. If you’re female i HIGHLY suggest that you wear something that covers at least your elbows and knees, hair too if at all possible. And as always when in a strange place, keep your money belt under your clothing and hidden well and your fanny pack front-facing.
