visited the park when the baby monarchs were flying south. absolutely amazing!!! we actually lost the trail while hiking because there were so many butterflies flying in our faces!!! (not an exaggeration at all) everyone who wants to see wild country, this is a great place to go.

some of the locals say it’s named after austin, texas because the main street is lined with yellow roses, but i was told that others disagree. whether or not that’s true, it is a beautiful mountain town in the middle of nowhere.

the scenery is breathtaking and i saw joshua trees for the first time while there. i highly reccomend going there, just stay away from vegas, i hate that place.
