Briatore

Worth visiting!

Pizza, Calzones, & others dishes

Briatore is a small mostly take out/delivery place with good food made on site. From Pizzas made using their own sauce to salads and sandwiches, all made when you order with fresh ingredients and friendly staff. There is some seating in the restaurant in the form of a few bistro tables. There’s always a copy of the days’s New York Times there to be read, some nice comfy waiting chairs, and HD TV to watch while you wait for your order.

The Owners (Amy and George) are friendly and ever present as this is their store and will make sure that you are satisfied with your meal.

La Cocina Del Puerco

Worth visiting!

Tasty and nearly authentic

Good food, cheese as a condiment not the #1 ingredient, bulk food is not their style… So, if you’re looking for Taco Bell, not your place (walk out the door, go 1 blk east on main, cross the street and go into the KFC/Taco Bell and get your nasty Taco there.) If you’re looking for fairly authentic… stay, order, enjoy.

Ape Cave

Worth visiting!

Well worth the visit

This is one of the most accessible caving experiences in North America that is still pretty honest to caving. It is also the longest unbroken Lava Tube in North America. No lights in the cave… only those you bring. No paved walk ways, not Cafeterias.. And the nearest bathroom is at the parking lot. The cave has an upper and lower section. The lower section is excellent as an introduction to caves and consists of wide and tall cavern sections. Its a gentle down hill to the end… and a gentle up hill back. You’ll need to be able to walk for about a mile for the round trip.

The upper cave is much more rugged but accessible. You must be able to climb over rock falls and traverse narrow spaces but the reward is some interesting rock and lava formations. The upper cave has an exit near the upper end to allow you a surface return… or alternately hike up to the top and descend to the mid point entrance.

I’ve taken groups of teens and adults on this hiking experience. Highly recommend it.

Vancouver

Worth visiting!

Very nice...

Though my visit was limited, I found the city very nice, Stanley Park, and the aquarium well worth the visit. The few places I ate at were all very nice as well… but nothing special worth recommending (it was a business trip).

Cincinnati

Not worth visiting!

Okay... its not horrible...

Hmm, this place has very limited attraction for me. Seemingly very limited intermixed ethnic diversity, a Downtown that feels like a ghost town at night. Cincinnati is a bit of a suburban wasteland. However, there are small districts of interest and things worth seeing, its just that there are not enough of them to warrant a visit.

Tampa

Worth visiting!

While not one of the highlights...

Tampa has its charms. Active and varied night life. Many nice places to eat and some of the flattest land I’ve ever seen.

This is not a “rush out a book your trip now” kind of place… but if you’re in the area for any number of other vacation destinations… give it a visit.

Nebraska

Worth visiting!

I loved the plains and the small towns

I drove cross country on State Route versus the “interstate” got to see much more countryside, old towns, and some actual wilderness. Omaha is much like many medium-large cities but its old part of town was cool. I found some nice art shops and other unique item stores. Over all nice visit with the countryside being the real highlight for me.

Salt Lake City

Worth visiting!

Smaller than it looks...

Salt Lake City’s old downtown area is a small area surrounded by typical Suburban Sprawl. But, in the down town is a walkable area of small shops, big stores, and sights of significance not only to their Mormon heritage but to those interested in history.

Mexico City

Worth visiting!

Its worth seeing...

Mexico City is an experience beyond normal limits. It is bigger than you think and older than you know. It has both modern and age old problems. But it has its moments of beauty and wonder that make it worth visiting.
