Mentor, Ohio

congrats to Mentor !!!

Mentor, Ohio is ranked at # 68 of the best cities in 2006 to live in according to CNN Money.com

It’s where I was raised so I can attest to the solid schools and education programs, as well as the low crime rate and affordable housing.

Just the climate isn’t the best… but the summers are good. Especially at Headlands Beach… while there you gotta see the sand dunes. Winters aren’t so good. It gets dark around 4:45 pm with lots of rain/snow mixed with gusty winds off of Lake Erie. BBBbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Then there’s the slush. In February one hardly sees the sun at all… the most dreary of months.

Mentor is pronounced with a “flat” t = menner is how the locals say it.

I do go back regularly, however, to visit family and friends.

Florida, United States

a little about the weather

There are two seasons in Florida (Miami)::: perfect and rainy. The rainy season is from mid-May thru September-October which coincides with hurricane season; with Thunderstorms nearly every afternoon. It’s a good idea to carry an umbrella with you during rainy season, cuz you never know when a storm will move thru. You can just buy one at one of the shops here. After the storm, the humidity increases rapidly, but the air is fresh during the storm. But it’s ususally sunny in the morning and early evening. It does get hot & humid every day during this time, and mosquitoes are probably nearby. But a/c is everywhere, so it’s really tolerable.

The rest of the year (November thru April) is just about perfect, temps in the 80’s with low humidity, but there are lots of tourists… remember, we are the Sunshine State, and it’s almost always sunny. The cool weather that occasionally moves thru lasts only about two days, and the coldest it gets is in the 60’s or sometimes the 50’s fahrenheit, with cool winds.

There are lots of hip/cool clubs to go to, but you must go to the Ocean. Just please don’t litter ::: I don’t want to go there and see other peoples trash.

And please be courteous of others while on your mobile phone.

You’ll see lots of photo shoots happening here too, and the filming of major films, as well.
