New York City, New York State
I finally live here!
I’ve wanted to live in Manhattan since I was in junior high school. My mom is from Queens and I have family in Queens and Manhattan. I go to school here and intend to live here for a while after that. But no, I don’t want to spend my whole life here because the world is too big to live 60 miles from your hometown your whole life. Nonetheless, this is the best city. When I go to other cities I am disappointed by their lack of character(s), lack of cheap food, lack of 24 hours public transportation, lacking in general. New York has it all! If I NEED a chicken quesadilla with onions, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, hold the lettuce and tomato, at 3 in the morning. I can get one. Delivered. For 5 bucks plus tip. I can walk 4 blocks to the subway station from my apartment here in Harlem, hop on the train, and in about an hour I can be riding one of the oldest (and funnest!!!) wooden roller coasters in the world with a view of the Atlantic Ocean at Coney Island. When I walk home from school I have a perfect view of the Empire State Building. I saw the guy from Law and Order SVU walking down the street while I was at a protest in October. We have the Naked Cowboy, the Shake Shack, a creepy and sketchy Chinatown, Chase banks on every corner, bodegas with cheap coffee and fresh flowers. I love this city and so will you.
