... It seemed so huge—like an international airport or something.
But then, as I kept going back here (for dinner or shopping or just to hang out with friends), I got familiar with the areas. Now, I can navigate my way around without any problem. ;D

I guess it’s because I went during Golden Week (a week when most of the Japanese are on vacation) so it was massively crowded, but my experience in Nara wasn’t that great…
I felt really bad for the deer-they seemed so miserable! They’re always surrounded by people and forced to eat the little biscuits-even when though they’ve had enough. I was really looking forward to petting and feeding the deer myself, but when I saw the number of people forcing the food into their mouth, I just couldn’t bear to do it.
I remember seeing this one couple who tried to feed a deer, but since it wouldn’t eat it, they stuck the biscuit into its hooves (to make it seem like it’s holding it) and took a picture on their cellphones, all the while the deer is just sitting there, looking sad. :/
Todaiji was awesome, though.

I recently came back after living and studying here for a whole semester (about 4-5 months), and I must say… I miss it A LOT. Kyoto is such a lovely city. Even though it can’t compare with the liveliness of the big cities (ie. Osaka and Tokyo), there are a lot of treasures here just waiting for you to discover it!
Kyoto, I feel has more sophistication-far from the loudness of the big cities-and it is also apparent in the way people dress, act, and speak (the Kyoto-ben dialect makes for a lovely listen). The people are sooo wonderful too!
And of course, I cannot forget to mention all the pretty temples and various historical landmarks which are practically scattered everywhere (I used to live right next door to Toji Temple, which I think is the oldest temple in Japan..?)! Every little place has its own story to tell…
Oh, and the nightlife is pretty awesome too! I have so many memories of days (and nights) hanging out by the Kamo River with friends, those all-night karaoke stints, and them nomihoudai parties… Ahh! I miss it so much!
So, to those planning on going: GO GO GO!

Tokyo is as lively and just as exciting as everyone says it is. I definitely had a lot of fun exploring this city. However, I prefer Osaka a lot more. I guess it’s because my heart still lingers in the Kansai region.

The one day I had for Paris and it was a Tuesday. The Louvre was closed. Why does it have to be closed on Tuesdays out of all the other days in the week?!

There’s a lot of interesting and beautiful areas you can explore here, but be prepared for lots of walking! A good pair of shoes is a must, since the dry lava beds are very jagged and it’s very easy to trip on the cracks. A bottle of water, flashlight, and a camera are good to bring too!

This island is extremely beautiful! It’s worth renting a car and driving all around! That way you can visit other beaches that are equally as nice, but not as crowded as Waikiki. ;D

It’s so beautiful! Once inside, you’ll feel like you’re in a truly sacred place (well, if it weren’t for the hoards of people there). And, I love the colors!
