While up in the Hunza valley, in the town of Gulmit, I broke my ankle in three places. I was killing me to cut my trip short. Deffinately an amazing place. The Broken Ankle? Let’s just say the local healer resetting it was another traumatic event…

I just cut across the corner of Turkmenistan, but if I walk around and have a meal, I count it as visited. Needless to say I have to go back and really look around sometime in the land of Turkmenbashi.

You can have a stone circle all to yourself, and if you get tired of biking or hiking, find a megalithic tomb to nap in. Absolutely a wonderful place to be.
