I live and go to school in Gainesville, Florida, home of the University of Florida and the Florida Gators. Gainesville has everything you’d expect from a college town – great cuisine, a very diverse population, and great attractions, from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (The Swamp, home of the Gators), to the University of Florida Museum of Natural History, home of the 3rd largest butterfly research lab in the United States (the museum also houses a beautiful outdoor butterfly garden). Shady, tree-lined streets and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere are the norm, offering a small taste of the Deep South in a state normally known for its beaches, palm trees, and old folks!
