Being a bit “Type A” myself, it was great to be in a place where there is no problem that can’t be solved over a pint of Guinness. Don’t put off a visit to Ireland…the place is changing, and is in danger of becoming like the rest of the world.

I enjoyed everything about Prague. It’s a very user-friendly city. Transportation and infrastructure are great. People are friendly in a genuine, canny, Eastern-European way. Everyone speaks a smattering of six languages. I learned some Czech from the “In-Flight Czech” CD: No way you could learn that CD during a flight, but I played it in the car for a few weeks and knew enough Czech to get by in a restaurant and at the hotel…Which was totally unnecessary, since they all spoke English. Still, it was nice to say “Dobry den” to people walking their dogs. My suggestion: Spend some time outside the downtown tourist zone and just walk through the neighborhoods where the people live. And oh yeah, the beer is fantastic.
