Because I have family in Scotland; the scenery looks breathtaking; I love the sound of bagpipes; and I want to try haggis.
Why in the name of God I want to try haggis, after this past weekend’s Adventures in Tripe, I don’t know.
But I do.
over 4 years agoWas 3/4/07; we’re going back tonight! LOL! Sold out the Reliant Stadium for Hannah Montana and the Cheetah Girls (sadly, some sections had no sound and are now being offered refunds, but the show was pretty good). Last year, we saw Melissa Etheridge, who did a fantastic job of filling in, at the last minute, for Sheryl Crow (who had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer). Tonight, we’re going to see Sheryl – glad she’s doing so well and able to perform!
The midway’s fun (overpriced, of course, but fun) – just not when EVERYKID IN HOUSTON is there to see Hannah Montana and the Cheetah Girls. Good gravy! Lines were horrible! My son really wanted to ride rides and play games, more than he wanted to see the concert. But he loves the calf catch and we all get a kick out of watching the rodeo, as well.
Plan to spend a whole day there – there’s just too much to see and do to cut it short and spend less. Also bring plenty of money! Lots to see and buy in the exhibit halls.
We haven’t done it, but at night, there’s Dancing in the Dome. Pretty cool. I volunteered there after Hurricane Katrina; it’s good to see it full of light and laughter again. I may always see that, superimposed over other images – but what stands out for me is human kindness and courage and resilience.
