I spent (only) 3 days in Washington, D.C. so we had limited time at each site. Of all the memorials we visited, this one surprised me the most. I knew nothing about it prior to visiting it, and it really made me think about this war and this time in our country. While in college I wrote about monuments, and the symbolism in them, and why people choose to memorialize events. I studied this one in depth, and I really want to go back so I can appreciate it even more than I did the first time.

I’ve been to many beaches in the Caribbean and in my opinion, this is BY FAR the best one! If you ever have a chance to visit it for a couple of hours, a day, or a week, go for it!! It’s AMAZING!! Lush, full trees lining the white sand beach leading into the gorgeous blue, green, aqua, teal sea. And this is all complete with rock islands jutting out of this beautiful sea. Truly breathtaking and AMAZING! I was only there for 4-5 hours and I want to go back for a week!!
