Crazy Horse Monument
Worth visiting!

I first visited in the middle late ‘80’s as a kid and was, of course, disapointed. After seeing the pictures (of what it WILL be) and coming from Mt. Rushmore it was, well, a hole in a rock.
BUT…
Now, looking at the work they have accomplished over the last 20 years, I think it is worth it. And the money our family paid to see it has helped make it happen.
They have done an AMAZING amount of work since I was there. The face of Crazy Horse did not exist in any way. Not only have they now roughed it out, they have totally finished (and dedicated) the face. It looks fantastic.
I agree that they are very anti-government. They point out constantly that they do not except government funds. But can you blame them? Come on, this the same goverment that ravageed their nation and carved thier leaders heads into their sacred ground (Mt. Rushmore). I’d be a bit peeved as well.
When this is done, it will be the most amazing sculpture ever. I think all should visit (I will take my children there) to see their progress, and, more importantly, help continue the project so that the next generation can see it finished.
