Cute little town. It was the setting for My Brother Sam is Dead, and who didn’t read that for summer reading in seventh grade?

It turns out that I won’t be able to go there this summer. Boo. But I might end up going out there for a weekend trip off-season.

I will be back when I have more time to play.

It’s pricey to park: $25.00, but I think it’s worth it. It’s a lot less crowded than Jones Beach.

It’s within driving distance of NYC. I recommend going during the week, or the trip turns into 1 hour at the beach and 4 hours of sitting in traffic. There’s a less crowded beach down the road that’s private and more expensive to get into but worth it to avoid the noise, etc. I will look into it and find out what it is.

It’s in a school library closet in Northampton. Or, at least it was the last time I checked.

It’s only 50 cents a ride, and it’s right next to a playscape. Seems to be devoid of scary-looking people. Warning: only potty in the park is a port-a-john that is kept padlocked. (carousel personel have key.) Also, parking is really expensive. Bring dimes, because they are a better bargain in the meters than quarters. (dime = 5 minutes, quarter = 10 minutes) Go figure.

Sorry, I thought this was in Hartford, but I was mistaken.

I had a good time there, but it may be an acquired taste.

Been here lots of times to visit friends who used to live here. The Amish are worth learning about. It is a beautiful area.
