Took the train to Moscow, then train to St. Petersburg and then bus home. Travelling with a big group of people. Had a good time, but next time around I will go on my own ;)

I went to Chichen Itza when we visited Cancun in 1992 – the whole “scene” has probably changed a lot since then. It was a crazy hot day when we saw it, but WOW. It’s just insane to think that a civilization that developed could just vanish, I mean, I know there are descendants of the Mayans living in the area around Chichen Itza, but…
I couldn’t make it up the inside stairway to the Jaguar because the air inside the pyramid was so stuffy, but give it a try!

Would like to go back to really experience it, Budapest as well as the smaller places.

In 1988, we visited Hawaii, so sadly, I can’t remember too much. There was a lava beach, some volcano, green green green and daily rain showers :) Beautiful!

...but then again, I was there in 1992! Lovely fruit brekkies with pancakes and maple syrup! The beaches were amazing and the pyramid & other ruins at Chichen Itzá were sooo cool. 14 years ago, that is…

I spent less than a week in New Zealand in 1996, travelling across the north island from Auckland to Wellington, and oh! those views!
Would SO like to go back one day…

I was in Salzburg for 3 weeks in Jan 1995. It was an amazing winter! So much snow… The city is beautiful…

We got to Rio after almost missing the plane—twice! The next day we lost our tickets for the trip onwards, to other places in South America…
Luckily they happened to fall out of my Dr Martens (yes, I tried to be smart…) when we were having breakfast at the hotel restaurant, so the next morning the waiter came up to us and asked if some tickets they found there were ours… Heavens smiled!
I liked the beach and the sugar cone, but we got pestered on the streets and heard wild stuff about the neighbourhood nextdoor… With some mixed feelings we left the city and took the bus southwest to Campinas along the coast – AMAZING trip!
The “feel” of Brazil is lovely. Not that people aren’t ‘happy’ in other places, but…

I visited Oslo when I was around 13-14, so I don’t remember TOO much about the city itself. It rained, we saw this place with loads of statues and then a huge Viking boat.
I want to go back to see the fjords!

..but it’s almost 11 years since I went, so I can only remember driving in the jeep and having breakfast on the beach. And the lake & the dune in the forest. Hmm. And it’s not like I was 5 or something… strange. I get envious of all the people who actually remember stuff from there – or took pictures! No talk about digital cams at that time, but I could kick myself for not taking more (?) pics in Australia.
Guess I have to go back.
