Free vacation!
Not really.
But work paid for almost all of my expenses…all I had to do was sit through some seminars spoken in French or German or Czech…which means we got to wear the cool headphones and listen to someone translate with an annoying voice.
Oh…it was cold and wet. Don’t go to Europe in the winter unless you’re going skiing in the Alps…it sucks otherwise.
And bring comfortable shoes. And a hat. And lots of money. And always say hello in french and then ask if they speak english…but do so in French. If you just go up to people and ask for help in English, they’ll do the French shrug and walk off. If you don’t know about the French shrug…google it. It’s pretty funny to see in person.
