Worth visiting!

Good hostel

We stayed at the hostel “Lappugglan”. That was very nice and not too expensive.

Lunds Centralstation

(in Sweden > Skåne > Lund)

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: It's an alright train station but...

...not a place to hang around for a long time though…

Piraeus

Worth visiting!

To get on board the boats...

...going out to the islands is the only reason I’ve found to visit Piraeus. For that, though, it’s worth a visit – but I’d try not to stay too long.

Singapore

(in Asia)

Worth visiting!

Good food...

...and good beer.

Bronxville

Worth visiting!

Stayed their with my family

My father was sent to work in New York for 6 months in 1975 and 1976 and the whole family went along.

Sydney Opera House

Worth visiting!

Next time I'll try to see an opera?

A spectacular building, beautifully located. It was nice to stroll around, just being there, having a beer at the waterfront. One day I would like to actually see an opera there as well. Maybe next time.

Italy

(in Europe)

Worth visiting!

A couple of years ago...

...when I was slightly younger and on interrail, I went to Brindisi, Genova, and Rome. Good food.

Sydney

Worth visiting!

I liked it

I was there the last time in 1987 and enjoyed it very much. Nice climate and good pubs. I stayed in Kings Cross, because that was where the cheap hostels were. The hostels were mostly ok, but apart from that the area could probably improve some. Has it?

Ujung Pandang

Worth visiting!

Good bakso

Nice city with really good bakso.

Pare Pare

On our way to Rantepao

We took the bus from Ujung Pandang heading for Rantepao, and decided to stop over in Pare Pare for one night. We were probably the only tourists at the time, at least the only westerners. I remember a really nice harbour, lots and lots of blue waste bins, a nice hotel, and a movie theatre showing a Steven Seagal (or was it Jean-Claude Van Damme) movie. Definently worth a visit. It was a good idea to break the trip to Rantepao in two as well. The busride can be a bit rough though, a young boy vomited in my shoes.
