I went with my family & boy over xMas and it was WONDERFUL. The house we stayed in was open air to Playa la Ropa, which was a great beach with plenty of good food and fun water sport activities.

Downtown has a really cool central market where you can buy everything from flip flops to mole to bread to pig hearts.

Nasty. Just nasty.

This is what happens when a government sticks a bunch of cement high-rise hotels along a beach and then ignores it for about 40 years. We were stuck staying here one night because of a flight/rental house time discrepancy and it was horrible. The hotel (Dorado) was boring, the “mall” is sad, and the beaches were packed with white people. You could hardly even tell you were in Mexico.
