Los Angeles

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: so big.. so much stuff to do

I was in LA for nearly a week, which is usually enough time for me to explore around a city. Not so with L.A., the place is humongous. I didn’t even get to see all the “touristy” things. I’m a big museum freak, so I kind of got carried away there, but damn, it’s unusual to have that much great art in one city.

Of course, the traffic is infamous. I’m not used to having to drive so much to get everywhere, but it was a welcome change to see people driving fast on the freeway- like 80-90mph average. Either way, it still blows my mind thinking about how big that place is- Korea town seemed like it was as big as downtown of most cities, and it took me about an hour to drive from Glendale (where I was staying) to Venice, and they’re arguably both “in LA”.

Wow, so much to do, so much to see

Freeway Park

Worth visiting!

nice, but sometimes scary

I live about 2 blocks up the hill from this park. It’s nice to walk around, and there are plenty of places to relax. It also has access to the Convention Center, so it’s a nice way to cut through when going to the shops on Pike and Pine.

At night though, because of the architecture it gets scary. There are lots of dark places for people to hide and jump out at you (even though I’ve never heard of it happening)

wineries

Not too far from San Diego, and the wineries were not very busy when I went. More for me!

La Jolla

Worth visiting!

came here to do some diving

Came to San Diego to go shore diving off La Jolla. Too bad there was a huge sewage spill the night I got in, and the coast for the whole area was declared toxic..

The restaraunts were nice though. I will have to come by again some other time.

perfect weather

warm, sunny but not humid. You can hike all day with a full backpack and not feel grimy and sweaty at the end of the day. Beautiful stuff to see too

love to watch the Pens play

Dayton

Not worth visiting!

went to go to Parts Express...

one of my favorite mail-order stores. Unfortunately their retail store was pretty dissappointing. I will stick to mail-order from now on.

Didn’t really see the rest of the city (didn’t know there was anything worth visiting)

a few nice places

Mt. Adams is nice, Jungle Jims is cool, and there’s a all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ across the state line in Kentucky that’s worthy of a trip when you feel like pigging out
