A lovely little beach town. Some of the tourist accomodation seems to surrounded by constant building work as they make it increasingly touristy but once you’re in the town itself it’s wonderful. Great bars and cafes, and the hundreds of stray cats near some of beaches give the place an interesting personality

I’m recommending this as much as anyone can actually recommend an airport. I’ve spent a lot of time here waiting for connecting flights to various places and it’s spacious, easy to navigate and has some convenient places to eat and drink while you wait.

I came here briefly on my whistlestop Kevin Smith Tour of NJ a few years back. Seemed like a lovely upmarket little town with the requisitive cafes and restaurants. Would definately come back to spend more time there

A gorgeous, historical town that I would love to come back to and see properly, having only really seen it in passing while heading to a party nearby.

I once ended up here while I was a student at SUNY Albany after getting on the wrong bus. It’s run down, beat up and with Albany itself just over the river offering a lot more really isn’t a place to go.

Personally, I’m a student of American national symbols and icons so to me it has an interesting history as the home of Samuel “Uncle Sam” Wilson, but really apart from a statue and Oakfield cemetary where the man himself is buried there is little to interest the average tourist.

It’s one of those places that you have to see when visiting New York. Period.

Paris

Worth visiting!

Pretty much one of the quintessential places in the world to visit so I can’t really add much to what has already been said. Nonetheless, the architecture is beautiful (if a little dirt-covered but nothing a good polish won’t fix) and the lifestyle seems relaxed in that very continental European way (although having witnessed a woman trying to push an armchair that had been mysteriously placed outside a cafe across the road before being pursued by one of the waiters before a raging argument that I couldn’t understand ensued may be an exception to the rule). I never got the chance to see any of the museums but Paris itself remains an impressive city to wander around

One of the essential places to visit if you find yourself in Albany. A great tour and a good way to learn about early New York history and politics. If that’s your cup of tea, anyway

Cardiff Castle

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

A gorgeous building, the main structure only dating to the 18th century but decorated in a mock-Medieval style due to the eccentric taste of the man behind it. The grounds are spacious and there are the remains of earlier buildings, including the original Norman castle that can be climbed. The tours of the actual castle actually vary, with different parts being shown depending on whether it is the summer or winter, so it’s worth doing the tour multiple times if you want to see more

A fantastic place to visit. Loads of old buildings that have been transferred brick-by-brick and rebuilt in their original condition. An excellent place to experience real history. Particularly recommended is a section that has a street of 18th century miners houses that have each been decorated to suit a diffferent era up to the 1980s.
