my favorite italian town
I lived in Firenze for one year in 1988-1989 while teaching at the Syracuse University Program in Florence. I fell in love with this city, so different from my hometown of Milano. If I were to live in Italy (again), Firenze would be my first choice. Very pedestrian friendly, great public transportation. It was lonely, though. The Florentine are not very open to people they don’t know. But I had my American students and was happy.
