Walla Walla used to have the highest number of millionaires per capita of any town in the nation. Due to its allure as a retirement town, a lot of very beautiful buildings were built to accommodate the rich.

Decades later, many of those buildings are broken into cozy apartments. The architecture in Walla Walla is really astonishing, for such a little town.

I went to Laramie last November to have Thanksgiving at my mom’s house. She and her husband had moved there in ‘05 because he’d gotten a new job nearby.

The Larmaie police pulled us over immediately after entering city limits for speeding and wrote us a $75 ticket. The speed limit goes from 55 to 35 in about a mile, and we’d been on the highway most of the day. Innocent mistake.

The bars were dead, and there’s no indoor smoking.

Over all, just a weird little country town like all the other weird little country towns, but every place is worth visiting at least once!
