Ljubljana and beyond

I have a special place in my heart for Slovenia. I have a penpal from here and it was the destination of my first trip out of the U.S. I think the country is wonderful, with plenty of interesting things in the capitol to see. The people are friendly enough and the english-level of the average person was surprisingly good. It’s a small country, well-connected by public transit, so it’s easy to see the hi-lights. Plus, Venice is a short, fairly cheap bus ride from the Ljubljana. :)

SUCH a boring place! I’ve only been to the capital, so you have to take what I have to say with a grain of salt, but… I’ve come to think that Montenegro is the perfect place for nature lovers, but not many others. I imagine that the rock climbing and rafting is to die for, but I just found that there wasn’t much to do to keep busy and a lot of time was spent lazing around the towns only real hostel. Also, NOT a place to visit in August; it was SO freaking hot! like triple-digits hot.

As for the people of Montenegro, I think they’re really interesting and fun(ny) to people-watch.

the land that i, um... love?

So, this is where I was born, currently live, and hope to escape one day very soon. Just kidding… it’s not all that terrible. I’m just ready to go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else. If you want to see some real natural beauty, you have to go to the Oregon coast; it’s amazing! Central Oregon’s cool too. You can find something to see in almost every state, so just try one of them out and see what you think. :)
