Bangkok

Worth visiting!

Yaay!Going back again!

Wooohoo!!I’m going back to Bangkok again next Wednesday. Can’t wait to shop and dine—that’s the thing to do in Bangkok.Call me ignorant for I don’t enjoy the serpentine canals leading to the water markets or the buddhist temples that witness monks chanting ancient sutra.I’ll do just that at a even sacred place okay?
Maybe i’ll make a trip to Playground!seems like a nice place to be seen and see.Till then..

Vietnam

Why I want to go to this place

they said either you love it or you hate it. i think i’m gonna love it. i love the excitement when trying to cross the road with no traffic lights and millions of scooters. i love the french architecture that blends neatly with the old and new vietnam. i love to cruise the Halong bay on a chinese junk boat and meeting strangers under the stars. i love to sit on a roadside stall and savour every delicious bite of the vietnamese pho. i love to be approached by businesswoman on the street offering you a massgae for a mere USD$3.

it’s a great place to be in i think, it’s where you see rare collections of Vespa in a Vespa cafe. And find imitation lonely planets to cater to the needs of backpack travellers. it’s where you can become a millionaire for the very one time in your life.

Bangkok

Worth visiting!

wheeeeeeeeeee

land of a thousand smiles-really, this place can’t be wrong. we met so many nice people that those stories of kidnappers simply floated to the back of my mind. we were staying in pratunam hotel and had trouble getting a cab because it’s located in some ulu alley and no drivers want drive in. then this group of teenagers kept staring at us-we thought we were jumping the queue for taxis. then they came over, asked us in poor english where are we heading. this cute guy then stopped a cab, speak to him in thai and off we went—safely back to the hotel.

this is one hella shoppers’ paradise man. chatuchak market or JJ market is enough for you to spend the entire weekend. i went there on Saturday and shopped from it opened till it closed and even went back on Sunday. bangkok serves really good food, i was so spoilt for choice! try cabbages and condoms in sukhumvit.

Genting Highlands

Not worth visiting!

hell boring

this place is really crap-total boredom!!the weather isn’t as cooling as before anymore and the amusement park didn’t amuse me at all!i don’t mind queuing for exciting and good rides but..and the food-it’s junk.don’t ever go unless you’re desperate for 3 minute happiness.take a shorter bus trip to KL instead, you’ll have more fun. or come to Singapore since anyway we’ll be having a casino.

Worth visiting!

shanghai night

how can i ever forget those nights in Shanghai? it was simply magical. walking on nanjing road in april when the weather was cool and drinking hot red bean soup at the same time. then comes cruising huangpu river in the night where the wind blow past my face like knife sliding across. meeting the perfect strange in xiangyang market while busy haggling for a lower price. the nights in shanghai, though short, made me did some soul searching. i should not be spending money like running water tap. i will rather join in the ‘xiao long bao’ queue in chen huang miao. and did i mention that there’s ferry service from shanghai to osaka? gives me another reason to go to shanghai and then to japan. haha.

Ko Samui

Worth visiting!

almost drowned

i went to Ko Samui when i was 10, i don’t even know where i was heading to at that time. i was just busy playing with the puzzle Thai Airlines gave. the things i remembered about this place was chasing dogs on the beach and feasting on seafood. the restaurant in the hotel was by the beach and the atmosphere was fantastic. and i almost drowned while swimming in the hotel’s pool. the thing is, i don’t even know how to swim!! now that i know how to swim, i’ll be going back, someday.
