Croagh Patrick

Stunning views

This is my favorite spot I visited in Ireland. The holy mountain itself is beautiful, but start climbing, turn around and gaze out into Clew Bay (you know, where John Lennon had an island, Dorinish Island, which Ono sold for charity after his death). Beatles trivia aside, even if you don’t make it to the chapel at the top, I can’t imagine regretting visiting this.

Kilkenny

Worth visiting!

My favorite city in Ireland

I just got back from a tour around Ireland and Kilkenny was my favorite city there. It felt so old, classic, and beautiful. I had a great time and definitely want to return.

Cliffs Of Moher

Worth visiting!

Spectacular

I’m looking back at my photos and really wished I could have spent a little more time just taking it all in. I plan on revisiting the cliffs at some point.

Blarney Castle

Not worth visiting!

When a castle becomes a tourist trap

I was so disappointed by this place. The castle was cool, but not cool enough to overpower the stench of greedy tourism. I doubt the builders of Blarney Castle ever planned on the gift shop addition.

Rite Aid #04215 - 2nd Ave @ E 80th St

Not worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Walk across the street and go to Duane Reade instead. The aisles are usually a mess and the checkout experience is the shopping equivalent of banging your head against a wall.

Westin Times Square

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

The last time my folks came to visit me, they wanted to stay in the city. I did a little bit of searching and found the Westin to be the cheapest hotel in the best location (by “best” I mean touristy—they’re my parents..). The rooms are excellent, from what I could tell and what my folks said. It’s right in Times Square, so you can get an excellent view, depending on how high up your are.
