München, Bayern

Untitled

i just got back from munich last night. i had only been there for about three days (it was the last leg of a month long trip in germany). if you want to stop by a brewery, the Augstiner, the oldest one in munich, is a little more laid back. The Hofbraehaus was fun, but very loud and crowded, and a bit more touristy. In general, Munich is a pretty touristy place, but it’s also a beautiful city and it has a lot of cool history. Definetely worth checking out. btw, if you’re looking for a fun tour, you might want to check out mike’s bikes. we did a city bike tour and saw neuschwanstein with them and had a really good time.

Dresden, Sachsen

Untitled

I went to Germany for a month w/ my school and we overnighted in Dresden. Parts were really pretty, and had a great art museum, but I think I was a little disappointed. I hope I can go back though and stay for a little longer to get a better feel for the place.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Untitled

I just saw history channel special about Robert Louis Stevenson, and how his hometown Edinburgh affected Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Edinburgh seems like a fascinating place—especially the underground. The city is so old, and it has been rebuilt and added on to so many times. We don’t really have an equivalent here in the States. I really hope I get to see Edinburgh for myself someday!
