This city is one of the best places to visit if you are ever in Lebanon. It is famous for its Arak, which is a type of strong alcohol, and its Berdouni, which is a series of restaurants around a wide river. The reason i would recommend this city is because it is the ONLY purely christian city in the Middle east. So you can see the influence of religion on it, and on its people. The mountains of Zahle are a great place to have a barbecue and drink Arak, and the restaurants there are amazing. If you are going there alone, you might not have that much fun, but in a group it is one of the best places to be. Zahle is a mix between a village and a city, it have the main part which is a decent city, and that is surrounded by mountains which are great to climb in the summer. Go there for a hiking trip, or go there for the food and drink. It is a great place where everyone is welcome. Even though it is a Christian city, it is a destination for many Muslims too, since the people of Zahle are so hospitable and friendly, they make everyone feel at home. One thing I would recommend is to go have dinner in Ghfareem in the mountains if Zahle. You will find restaurants built around natural springs that push out pure water. You can pick fish from a pond and have them for lunch :D, they are absolutely delicious!
