Teatro Argentino

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Amazing

This is by far the best theatre I have been to – I don’t remember my visit to the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires b/c I was too young, but the Teatro Argentino in La Plata was amazing!! It is a very old building, which was recently remodeled, so it has a very unique mixture of modern and antique. The acoustics in this place were amazing, but the cast of the show had a lot to do with it as well.

San Telmo

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: So much character!

I loved my visit to San Telmo. We walked there from the obelisco, and found the best antiques market I have been to. There are great cafes and shops in this district of BA, and of course, part of the area considered the birthplace of Tango. Plaza Dorrego is great, hosting milongas on the weekends.

Worth visiting!

I was born in Toronto, and lived there until I was 9. I love it there, and could see myself moving back someday, even with the cold weather!

Hilton Head Island

Not worth visiting!

Nice beach, but

there’s nothing else to do! It’s all golf courses and touristy shopping.

Boston

Worth visiting!

Awesome City

I spent an afternoon walking around Boston killing some time before a flight, and I loved it. Lots of great stuff to see and do. I’m looking forward to the next time.

New Hampshire

Worth visiting!

Quaint

Concord is a really cute small town. Along Main Street there are some really good restaurants (Barley House) and cute shops. The people are so nice, and the food is really good – puts Atlanta to shame! It was my first time eating a whole lobster…they have awesome seafood at Makris – http://www.eatalobster.com/. Overall, a really good experience in NH.

Manaus

Worth visiting!

In the heart of Amazonas

I visited Manaus twice in 2005 and absolutely loved it. The house I stayed in was in a natural reserve area and the backyard was home to animals such as toucans, aligators and pacas…I was told there were monkeys but I didn’t see any. Besides all the rainforest and Amazon River tours, the kindness and hospitality of the people here was amazing. And the nightlife was great, too – dancing forro and samba until the early hours of the morning. :)

La Plata

Worth visiting!

Untitled

This city just south of Buenos Aires is where my family is from. It has a small-town feel to it, and it is home to the Universidad de La Plata, a famous cathedral and natural sciences museum. It’s also home to some of the nicest people I’ve ever run across. :)
