If I were visiting Dublin now I think I’d track down the haunts of Flann O’Brien since he’s much funnier than Joyce. And of course there’s a Third Policeman connection with Lost (which I believe is an American TV show;)
I can recommend the Literary pub tour (I did it in ’98), as you will hear many funny stories about Brendan Behan.
But of course there is a Joyce Museum.

If you mean this TV show then I think I can answer your question as I recall reading at the time it was shot on the Isle of Man

Thali on Dean St (I think it is) I enjoyed, but Tandoori Nights (on Grey St) was a bit odd and the food not so great.

Bob Trollop‘s is a veggie pub with unprententious and filling meals, plenty of choice on the menu but sadly they’ve stopped doing the all day breakfast.

You know the fire station on Pilgrim Street and that big roundabout further down? Well it’s between those two points on the left hand side of the street (ie same side as the fire station) as you walk down the street. The lane is opposite a pub (ie the pub is on the other side of the street) but can’t recall name of it. Walking down the street you won’t see the grafitti but turn into the lane and look around and there it is. My secret flickrwall’s not a secret anymore!

Did they go inside Rosslyn Chapel? It’s been scaffolded up for some time now but that hasn’t changed the mystery of the carvings on the inside.

The Shore (a pub and restaurant) down in Leith is nice.
And, although maybe not the time of year for it, the botanic gardens are nice as well.
