I had just checked into my hotel after getting off the plane. I made a beeline for Waterlooplein as it seemed like a neat place to go. I bought a bike and it turned out to be the greatest vacation souvenir I have ever purchased. I can’t recommend this place enough! It’s the greatest flea market, ever.

Buy a bottle of Bermuda rain water. Drink it and enjoy it. Then go to one of the lovely beaches. Fill part of the bottle with sand and shells if you can find some. Fill the rest of the bottle with sea water. Cap. Take home as a fabulous souvenir. My family did this ten years ago and the bottle still looks great. You can also shake it up and watch it like a snow globe.

You should definitely swing on the swing set.

Sometimes it smells weird and not good. I think this is because they have a factory that makes something smelly.

The cathedral is beautiful. The stained glass and statuary are amazing. Be sure to walk all around the inside of the sanctuary. Very peaceful and quiet during the day. I have not attended a service here, but hear it gets quite crowded on holidays.

I saw Weezer on 05/03/05 with my brother. I’d been to the 7th Street Entry several times, this was my only time in First Ave. It was one of my best concert experiences of all time.
