I bought an adorable paper flower crown from a vendor on the Riverwalk. These are delicate little crowns with lots of bright colors and bunches of curly ribbons streaming down the back. I’m sure they’re made for little kids, but I loved how pretty they all looked. I kept my flower crown for years and only recently had to let it go because it fell apart.

I spent one of them here with my family at a cool little motel. Zanesville seems to be as far as we could make it in one day on our return trip to Iowa from spending Christmas in New Jersey. In order to be back to Iowa in time for school, we had to leave before the New Year. I lobbied to stay in NJ and then go to Times Square, but I got outvoted by my parents. Thus, it was Zanesville and watching “Grease” the sing-along version.

I felt very peaceful here. I went by myself to visit her. She is a beautiful statue and has quite a presence. Next time I’ll try to find her letterbox.

This has been an often visited destination on my family’s vacations to NJ. I have many fond memories of the shore, the restaurants and shops, the hotels and houses, and the tent city. Definitely a quirky little place that is worth visiting.

I generally feel a bit melancholy when walking the boardwalk here nowadays. When I was little, I remember riding some rides that were old enough that my mother rode them when she was little. It made for some great family photos.

The permanent collection is great, the rotating shows are great and the architecture is amazing.

Grab a bucket of cookies from Sweet Annies, then head over to the milk booth. It’s delicious to have warm cookies and cold milk.

I was born here. The hospital has since been torn down and replaced with a library. I almost think it’s sign since I really want to be a librarian.

This is, in my mind the epitome of the word library. I feel lucky to be able to work here for the last few months that it will be used as the library before we move to the new building.

This is one of my most favorite places in the world. The zoo is awesome and free. The Science Centers are great, and free. The Muny is wonderful and free or cheap depending on where you want to sit. The park itself is gorgeous. If you get to St. Louis, don’t miss it!
