Bellevue Bar

It was owned, I believe, by Florent Morellet, the very same of Restaurant Florent, on Gansevoort Street in the West Village. Bellevue is now closed. Top chef Anthony Bourdain sported a Bellevue Bar tea shirt on a recent show about Vietnam. It don’t get any more interesting than that.

I hope it’s just like the Finland in Billion Dollar Brain, the Michael Caine movie of 1967. I first saw it in grainy black and white and it looked so romantic. I also love the four Lemminkainen Legends.
