Washington State

Worth visiting!

Seattle

This April I visited rainy Seattle, and despite the weather… it was fun! The EMP (Rockn’Roll Museum) was very good! But my favorite day was spent walking along the peer, and exploring Pike Place Market (I enjoyed a fresh, juicy salmon burger – and coffe from Seattle’s Best!). The fish market was funny- a must see! Next time I will venture into downtown, evnthough it appears pretty much identical to downtown vancouver.

Seaside

Worth visiting!

The Oregon Coast: Seaside, Canon Beach ...

Again, so close to home, yet is still at the top of my list when it comes to favorite vacation spots. I don’t think I’m alone here- the oregon coast truely is a spectacular place. The first time I saw one of those pinkish orange, too good to be true sunsets from the side of the highway, I knew i would be returning again and again. One day, I’ll come down with my mom, and we’ll stay at one of the cute little BnB’s on the beach, but my tried and tested garauntees for holiday of RnR are Canon Beach (cute little town ~not too big not too small, lots of sun and sand), and Seaside (a few must-tries here: salt water taffy from the candy shop, an ice cream come along the board walk, bumper cars in the mall, a ride on the carousel, lounging/snapping sunset pics at the oh-so-lovely spacious beach). If you’re into volleyball, visit Seaside during August for the tourney, but be sure to book an accomadation in advance (trust me, I’m stuck roomless every year!!)

Courtenay

Worth visiting!

The Vancouver Island Folkfest (Courtenay,BC)

Last year I had an amazing time. It’s relaxing, fun, and full of stuff to do (a market for shopping, and food stands for meals). Perfect for music lovers. There’s Yoga in the mornings and performances all day and night, plus workshops for dancing, and artsy stuff all day. I suggest camping over the entire weekend. It was so much that I’m coming back this year
