chichen itza is take-your-breath-away amazing to see in person. everyone should visit. i was completely in awe of the ruins…even though it was yucky & rainy. but i’m so glad to have visited…definitely worth it!

went last week…san jose, la fortuna & volcano arenal, monteverde, & tamarindo!

i still can’t believe i’ve seen the falls. i’m so glad i took the chance to see them while i was in buenos aires. don’t miss the chance to see them…you won’t be disappointed. i still can’t believe how many people i know who’ve never seen or even heard of iguazu!

tip: stay at the sheraton. other places may seem like better deals, but you still have to get to/from the falls…plus, they may sneak in extra charges that aren’t agreed upon beforehand. plus, you get to see the falls at sunset!

it’s a great day trip, like everyone else says! just hop on the buquebus ferry, & you’re good to go! it’s a great town to visit if you want a nice day of walking, a little break from buenos aires!

flew into kalamazoo, & visited some killer wineries w/ my friend who lives in south bend & her husband. the scenery is just gorgeous, & of course, there’s lake michigan as well. i sitll have much more to see of michigan, but it was nice to finally give it a visit!

okay, this was really only “worth visiting” b/c i have a kickass friend who lives there. we went to a nice restaurant, but there’s not much to the town. i had a ton of fun b/c of the company i had, but i wouldn’t go there alone.

okay, chicago was great! if it weren’t for o’hare, i’d want to go there all the time. tons of skyscrapers, beautiful scenery, the amazing art institute, & the pizza, oh the pizza…i’m craving it again already! i can’t wait to go back!

yeah, it was overwhelming. really polluted & rainy. i was so depressed the first day i was there. but there are things you can’t miss – el angel, diana, zocalo, catedral, el palacio de bellas artes…okay, well, you can’t see it all. i still need to go back to see the aztec ruins & many other things. but you still should give it a chance. just don’t forget the pepto!

DC is great! the metro is easy to use. there’s a ridiculous amount of things to do & see…& best of all, most of them are free (or relatively cheap). great place to get away to for a few days for a cheap trip!

this is scheduled for the last week of march—i’ve requested the vacation time at my job. i’m worried that it’s going to be cold, but i’m excited that i have already got plans to make my first trip to switzerland! plus, it WAS my goal to leave north america next year, so it’s nice to have some progress on that goal.

i’m not sure if we’re going to any nearby countries when we’re there, but i’d like to. i’m worried that accommodations are going to be ridiculously expensive (my friend lobie quoted me at $200ish a night—& that’s per person, not per room), so i’m definitely going to have to do some planning on that one.

my friends that i am planning to go w/ are mostly all about shopping in zurich. but i’d like to see a bit more of the country, if i could. i’d much rather take a train across the country to see the capital or geneva or something than buy some overpriced jeans. i guess i’ll have to see. mostly i’m just so excited to see something new—plus, maybe it’ll be snowy when i’m there! as long as i don’t get stuck at the airport!!!
