Visited Singapore when my boyfriend (now husband) spent a year there going to school. I went at Christmas time and we had our first palm tree Christmas tree. I don’t remember all the places we went but looking at all the pictures people have posted reminds me of being there. Hard to believe that was almost 15 years ago. Definitely would like to go back! We did take a bus to Malaysia, but that was mostly to get our passports stamped which I don’t think they even did! Well, it was worth it anyway.

Chiang Mai was great. We visited the night market, rode elephants, visited the silver factories (fascinating) and stopped for fresh fruit at roadside stands. I wish we’d had more time there. The only thing I didn’t appreciate that much was the food. We really noticed a difference between the food of Northern Thailand and the rest of the country. Spicier and less coconut milk I think. We stopped for lunch one day and I couldn’t even put the soup I ordered in my mouth! And I’m not a total weenie when it comes to hot food. Still, a great memory.
