Hunter Valley, New South Wales

Good for a weekend away

This place is pretty cool for a weekend away, or even just a day away. Enjoyed the wine tasting immensely, although I was pretty tipsy by lunchtime and couldn’t remember if I tried anything about the wines I sampled. Tip: If you buy chocolates from the chocolate factory, don’t leave them in the car/bus. By the end of the day I had a $30 chocolate puddle.

Niagara Falls, Niagara County

Untitled

Spectacular. Especially enjoyed the Maid of the Mist boat ride and the lights on the falls at night. But apart from the falls, theres not much else to do. If I ever go back, it will be to the Canadian side, that way at least I get to gamble.

New York City, New York State

I want to move to NYC!!

Loved it, loved it, loved it!! So much to do, so much to see. I feel like I did a LOT while I was there – museums, tours, Broadway, shopping – yet I still haven’t done enough. Which is cool as it gives me more to do when I go back, because I am definitely visiting again! The pain in my feet from walking blocks and blocks each time I went there was well worth it!

Advice: the NY pass is definitely good value if you’re planning on doing the sightseeing thing. I got the one day pass and managed to go to the Empire State building & the skyride inside it, Madame Tussaunds wax museum, American Museum of Natural History, the Circle Line speedboat ride which goes past the Statue of Liberty and is lots of fun, not to mention a good way to rest your feet for half an hour, the Rockefeller Centre and NBC studio tours and Lazer Park. Plus we got discounts when we ate at the Soup Man(Seinfelds inspiration for the Soup Nazi) and Juniors(mmmm…cheesecake!!)
