I FINALLY MADE IT TO POWELL’S!

I think I could’ve stayed here forever had my boss not dragged me out. It’s like Disneyland for lit-nerds.

They did a good job at making this place feel like New York without being overly hokey. And…MINI BROOKLYN BRIDGE! Need I say more?

Didn’t stay at the hotel but had a lovely dinner at the Top Of the World, the revolving restaurant.

Got back from Vegas yesteday. I wasn’t the one in our party who picked our hotel. It was…odd. Totally ridiculous, but in an amusing way. They pump in recordings of people speaking French in order to make the place feel more Parisian, I guess. We had a fabulous time at the spa. We tried several restaurants within the casino and they were iffy. Don’t expect much if you are a vegetarian like I am.

They are putting one of these on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley. I am very happy about this. I definitely miss living within walking distance from here.

Sunday night, for the Black Heart Procession and Devics.

I like this venue a lot. It’s not too big, nor is it small and cramped. I’ve seen several memorable shows here over the years. Someday, I’m tempted to splurge on a dinner ticket. The food sounds yummy.

without buying something. Usually several somethings. I’ve seen some crazy in-store artist appearances over the years as well.

I only want to go here because I want to go to Powell’s. I hear it’s worth the trip.

I’m really not a Disney person.
