Australia, Australia/Oceania

Untitled

I lived in Perth, Western Australia for 6 months while I studied abroad at Murdoch University. It was the most amazing time of my life. I fell in love, learned to surf, studied film, went out to bars, met amazing people, and became a part of the culture and lifestyle. I went to Footy games and drank the local beers. I went to film festivals outside in the middle of the woods, went on road trips to Margaret River, Secret Harbor, and Mundaring. I took a bus back from hanging out with Jack Johnson and G. Love in after stealing a friends car with a couple buddies and having it breakdown on the way back. Luckily near a mechanic and a busstop haha, I would wake up at 5am to catch a wave. Went biking on Rottnest Island, ran from Quokas, fed Kangaroo, fed Koala’s, etc. I did it all tried it all and never have felt more alive in my life. There they breathe family, friends, nature, and the ocean. Money and looks aren’t as important as they are in America. I mean sure they were an attractive bunch and had fashions sense of this world, but I never got the sense that that it mattered to them more than what was really important in life. I’m telling you make the trip, and try living here for a short time. It will change your world. Especially once you see how the rest of the world views Americans. Good luck, happy travels.
