My family is Norwegian so of course I wanted to visit. A few tips for Americans:

The “pepperoni” on the pizza is usually elk meat.

If you have a crazy old Tante (aunt) she will bring out a whole cow leg and attempt to serve you chunks of it.

Swimming in the rivers in August is not wise unless you have a scuba suit on.

And don’t ask for mayo on your sandwiches, they will laugh at you.

But it is awesome, beautiful and the people are outstanding.

I grew up in central New York, and had never gone to NYC. The only time I went, I ended up getting lost in Central Park in high heels! It was fun, and can’t wait to go back.
