it’s a gem, but if you go, be sure to check out the unassuming Marine Museum, there are a lot of buildings that look like they are just an old house, or an old barn, but inside is a lot of cool stuff….

Cuba, NM is a good place to DRIVETHROUGH. Northern New Mexico is beautiful and there are a lot great places to visit, but I would not stay in Cuba too long. I thought there would be a good coffee shop there at least…. but not really. They do have fun “Welcome to Cuba” signs, but then right next to the one going south is a big old billboard on a church stating “Support Our Troops” ….. hmmmmm, I don’t thing Fidel would approve.

The thing with Rio is not to stay too long. Make sure to catch a LOCALS bus to a neighboring small town such as Parati or Buzios. It costs about three US dollars and you will enter a whole other world, just getting there. Also, if you are going to go to Rio and plan on spending any time on the beach, and you’re a girl, then in the spirit of experiencing other cultures, make sure you get a bikini-thong tan BEFORE you go. There is nothing that yells tourist louder than being out there with 1. a regular bathingsuit bottom or 2. a white ass.
