This is one of the most starkly beautiful places in the U.S. Ignore the fact that it’s a man-made lake—it’s still breathtaking. My favorite thing to do is go on boat cruises up Escalante Canyon at dusk. And if the temp gets over 100 (as it usually does anytime after June and before October) pop into Dangling Rope Marina for ice cream!

The Grand Wailea Resort in Wailea is one of my best memories as a kid on family vacation. The beach is pristine, and the series of pools interconnected by waterfalls, slides, a water elevator, and more are a blast!
