My husband & I took my mom the weekend after Thanksgiving. It was pretty cold and icy but absolutely wonderful! We stayed in a cute little in behind the Chateau Frontenac, had dinner at a traditional Quebecois restaurant and Sunday brunch at the Chateau. I really loved my weekend there and cannot wait to return…when it’s warmer!

It’s not as rainy as everyone says…I lived in the PNW for six years and I loved every moss-covered minute of it. I lived on Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill and waaaay south of SoDo. There is something so essentially alive about Seattle. Maybe it’s the caffine, maybe it’s the slippery-notes of fluevogs at Pike’s Place Market and maybe…just maybe it’s a totally free and wonderful place to be.

Oops! I almost forgot. We stayed in a wonderful B&B in the area, Spruce Hill Manor (http://www.sprucehillmanor.com/). I swear by B&Bs…Janet is an awesome innkeeper and the house is so very charming.

It’s just a short walk away from the Philadelphia Art Museum very worth the detour.

Visit City Park, support the rebuiling efforts at the Botanical Gardens. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the City.
