Paris

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Paris is beautiful, exciting and historical. Must visit the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre (but decide before you go what you want to see, get tickets in advance, otherwise you could spend days and still not get around),take a boat tour on the Seine. If you get a chance, visit some of the villages outside of the city. Some folks go to Versailles to see the Palace, I just walked around the town, it was wonderful. And of course, wonderful food. Do not miss the beaujolais! Awesome wine.

Muir Woods National Monument

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

Absolutely magnificent! It’s one of the coolest places I’ve ever visited. It’s very quiet and peaceful. The trees are beautiful, you can even buy your own giant sequoia seedling to plant at home! Lots to learn, great place to spend a day or more wandering around. If you are visiting San Francisco, try to get a room near the woods the night before and get there early. You can have the place almost to yourself.

San Francisco

Worth visiting!

Untitled

San Francisco is one of my favorite cities in the world! There is so much to do and see, it’s like nowhere else. Fisherman’s Wharf is great. It’s fun and scenic. See the sealions, enjoy the entertainment, ride the carousel. The tour of Alcatraz is really cool. But if you really want to enjoy the city, read up on things you are interested in, and you will surely find something right up your alley. Explore and enjoy. Don’t forget to ride the cable cars!

Oxnard

Worth visiting!

Untitled

As a military spouse, this is yet another place that I have lived. I lived in Oxnard for 3 yrs. The area where I lived is a very nice one. It’s a typical Southern California town, and lifestyle. There are lots of beaches and great shopping available. You can take the PCH to Malibu in 20 to 30 minutes, and it’s the prettiest drive (1 hr) to LAX, that there is!
Oxnard is home to the annual California Strawberry Festival, which occurs in May, I think. The Festival is a blast; lots of good food and entertainment. A plus about the area? Sometime celebrity spottings! Brad Pitt and Maddox were seen late last year shopping at the Oxnard Sports Chalet, and Sandra Bullock and hubby Jesse James ate at a local McDonalds!

Uxbridge

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I lived in Uxbridge for 3 yrs. It’s about 30 minutes north of London, and about 45 minutes by tube (London Underground). I loved living in England. All of the towns around the area are lovely. The people are very friendly, although you may have to make the first move. Loads of fun, and lots of places to visit all around the area, besides just London.

How this place changed my life

I had lived my entire life in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. I met and married my husband there, and we stayed in the area for a year. Then, we were transfered to Oahu, Hawaii. I had never been west of Wisconsin! It was a scary move for me. Being a native east coaster, I am, by nature, hurried, harried and short fused. After living in the town of Kaaawa, on the windward (eastern) coast of Oahu for 2yrs, and later in Honolulu for a year, I learned to slow down, chill out, have fun and enjoy life. We also concieved our first child while living there. So, I guess we have a life long souvenir from our time there.
Hawaii—No Ka Oi!!!
